He appeared on Comedy Central’s Stand-Up Featuring and was a regular player on This Week at the Comedy Cellar (where his set has garnered over 10 million views on Facebook). He was featured in season one of Bring The Funny on NBC and made his late night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2019. In 2020, Ian performed his first 30- minute special for HBOLatino’s Entre Nos titled LA Meets NY, followed by being named a 2021 JFL New Face of Comedy. Ian was recently selected as one of Freeform’s Black & Freeform Honorees and was also named one of “10 Lesser-Known Great Black Comedians” by Screenrant. His Comedy Central ½ hour special Growing Shame debut on YouTube in February 2022, followed by his HBO Special Ian Lara: Romantic Comedy, which was released in November 2022 and is currently streaming on Max.
